Senate Intell. Committee slams CIA by the Bear
No doubt, the CIA did a terrible job and should be fried with their feet to the fire. I am certainly glad that George Tenet is gone.

The Senate Intelligence Committee Report also told us a lot more in great detail and it vindicates George Bush from the accusations that he ignored the CIA intelligence and influenced their findings as a prelude to going to war in Iraq.

But what the report does not tell us is, what added to this failure, because this gets into the area of Sacred Cows.

Sacred Cow No.1”The Clinton Administration” (God forbid …. That I should even mention his name in vain)

Under the Clinton Administration, the CIA, A Spy Agency was directed not to deal with Shady People. Well who do think they can get information from? Sister Mary’s Nuns for the poor? Just on the face of it, this is so Absurd that it hard to fathom how this could happen.

Sacred Cow No. 2 “The Congress of The United States”
In the mid-nineties our Representatives and Senators cut and slashed the budget of the CIA by some 30%. You get what you pay for.

"Congress' report on the failings of the CIA leading up to the war in Iraq is pretty damaging stuff, not just to the CIA itself but also to those who slashed its budget in the 1990s.” – Investors Business Daily, Pointing Fingers

But it absolutely turns my stomach to watch the holier than thou crowd trip over one another to get in front of the TV cameras to tell us about intelligence failures, because some of these people are the same ones who voted for the slash and cuts.

Owing up to one’s mistakes or accepting responsibility is not a virtue in D.C. land like CYA is.

I've been trying to get "less government is better" conservatives to believe this for years...

So, the Iraq war.. all of it, is Clintons fault? I guess 9/11 is the Clinton administrations fault too? hmmm... interesting.

So when does the buck stop for the man sitting in the big chair in the Oval Office?

I don't remember the CIA funding being cut....

But, anyway, which party dominated both Houses of Congress during the 90's? hint: the same party that impeached Clinton. I guess they cut that as too much spending at the same time they were cutting funding for social and health services. Now the same people don't mind spending the living shit out of taxpayer money on an illegal, immoral war.

wow!

Go to http://www.access.gpo.gov/int/int017.html

There is a lot to read here about cuts in budgets and no. of people cut by agencies

This country was sound asleep before 9/11 and did not reconize the treat that was out there

Another cut you should aware of is ..... in 1991 we had a miltiary of
2.4 mil boots on the ground..... today about 1.5 mil
