IMO something really needs to be said and done about the reposts as I feel it really is getting out of hand. It's pushing other topics off the page and devastating the integrity of this forum.
Just speaking for myself, within the past week I have posted two threads only to see other posters create their own versions of the very same information, in one case even a much less informative with only a fraction of the information I had already provided.
I am seeing this done to others as well.
This is really out of hand or I wouldn't be commenting on it now.
Posters REALLY need to look through the forum, this and World Events, to be sure their topic is not a repost and warrants a whole new thread.
Thank You.

Perhaps it is because of how topics expressed. I might choose not to read a thread if the headline is some cute little garb.
Just a thought ...

1. I do not understand what you mean. btw: I haven't seen you do it yet LB.
2. Anyone beginning a new thread .. an ENTIRELY NEW THREAD, IMO has a responsibility to be sure they are not recreating an existing thread. It's simple respect for everyone that uses these forums.
There needs to be more reading than simply wanting to be heard.
That is the way to maintain quality for all posters in the forums here.

It also helps if the topic of the thread is clear in the title, ie 'Bush fires scientists over Edwards t-shirts' [an amalgam, not a quote] instead of 't-shirt slogans cause discrimination'. That way, even the laziest posters can quickly find the topic related to theirs, and add to the existing thread rather than starting a new one.
Mods can also (I think) merge threads that are similar... but I don't spend much time in here, so it will have to be some OTHER mod, some AMERICAN mod, doing the dirty deed.... :D

Aten, some of us don't read every post. Sometimes I get on a roll and make a lot of posts and end up reading almost everything.
But other times I go days without accessing the site. When I do, I hardly feel a responsibility to read every single post lest I make a new post on something someone else has already mentioned.

Understandable .. but to have two of my threads (just as an example, nothing personal) which were clearly titles, clearly visible duplicated twice in less than a full week is just a sign that it's getting out of hand.
I posted this thread so that the forum posters might be realistic about this.
It's not that I expect it to never happen but there seems to be more of a desire to be heard than to listen.
I'm asking that everyone please be careful.
A reminder.
