Sir Digalot has installed a new feature for the forum. You will now notice a blue card at the top right of every post made on the board.

Should you come across an objectional post that is turning a thread into a flamefest, or you feel a post breaks one of the few rules here, by clicking on the blue card, all moderators and admins of the forum will be sent an email. Thus notifying them of the post in question, enabling us to review the post in question.

Hopefully this should help ensure the board is kept from being engulfed in flames. Another part of the feature allows the admins ( Goddesscon, Sir Digalot & Myself ) to issue a warning to a poster. However it is very unlikely this will happen :D

Excellent idea! Thanks, Daav and SirDig! Let's hope your blue-dot-phone will be ringing sparingly.

It's clear you don't have kids, Daav... any parent knows that if you give them a new toy, they WILL play with it. And the level of annoyance they can cause with it directly influences the amount of play it gets :lol

Seriously, a good idea. I hope we don't often need it, though, as I religiously checked every one of the test posts in the wee hours, even though I was dog-tired from 18 hours in a polling place. (The Conservative candidate won, as expected, but I did see some extremely well-cut suits on some of the oil executives who turned out to vote for their buddy).

additional to the announcement..:

any abusers of the BLUE CARD will be automatically given a YELLOW CARD

10 of which means a automatic ban...

of course good behaviour and bribes remove YELLOW CARDS ;)

Will they be like Pokeman cards or more like baseball cards? I guess as long as it itsn't a pink slip :lol

Seriously..........this takes the place of delete. We will no longer be able to delete?

no delete has been disabled simply because if something that could get is trouble is posted, even if it is back edited, we will havea record of it in the Db and can help the authorities should they be involved with their enquiries... I am not in any way saying that anyone here will be or is a criminal or has any criminal intent, but seeing that this is a privatley owned and operated website of a political nature, we haveto cover all bases... as the owner of thr website can be held responsible for actions of it's members should any criminal activity occur.. this includes the obvious as well ans any cases involving peadophilia etc ( not that we have any of that going on....)

we do have honest posters here but since this isa worldwide forum that can be accessed anywhere in the world we have to strike a balance between security and freedom...

I do apologize for the inconveinience but it could be a lot worse having the FBI interpol MI5/6 beating down our doors and arresting us for suspected criminal and or terrorist activity and we all know that the patriot act allows them to do just that....

you can still edit the posts tho.... it is the best we can offer :/

it is sad when you have to take measures like that isn't it especially considering we are meant to have free speech and live in free countries... we have to protect ourselves from our own governments now!

so long innocent until proven guilty... you were a nice concept inyour utopian sort of way...

I no longer can delete my double post.

Indeed, that was one purpose that the delete button was useful for.
