In your opinion, who would you say tops them all as far as Presidencies go?

As for me, the top three are in order of the best. FDR was the bomb. Abe is second just because he saved the union spectacularly. And Wilson followed by Teddy are 3 and 4.

Teddy Roosevelt!

True.

IMO TR was the greatest President not to have to deal with a large-scale war.

I doubt that any foreign country would dare to declare a war with America under TR's leadership! He is no whimp like Bush!

Who is George Bush, jr.? Lincoln is the greatest president ever, but I'm wondering how Bush "jr." made that list while the Gipper was left off. :eyes

Reagan is a close second! :D

Reagan is the greatest of all time.

FDR gave us the welfare state we know today and that is hardly a great thing.

Yep, feeding and clothing the poor... giving them jobs... preventing both fascism and communism in one blow... destroying the worst, most corrupt governments the world has ever seen... reforming the country to make it modern America... yep, he certainly sucked!

But no, the Iran-Contra scandal! Now THAT is what the President should be doing!

Adam, removing the incentives for Americans to live by their own means is the most damaging thing ever done to any country. Placing a safety net under people takes away their desire to make a life for themselves and their family.

America started as a totally free country where if you didn't work, you didn't eat. It was the survival of the fittest that make this country great, strong and self-sufficient.

Starting with FDR and then 7 years of LBJ killed the spirit of America and people began to believe they were entitled to all the things you mentioned. Of course to furnish all this welfare meant that people like me had to pick up the tab. This is called Socialism Adam, and nothing else.

I'll take the American way if you don't mind and will gladly send all welfare recipients to Swedan or back to Mexico.

So you reckon they're all Mexicans? I guess you'd deny that you're a racist too. And there's no such place as Swedan.
