after much bitching talking to outsourced foreigners and waiting... we have what i would class as a 99% capacity for our DSL service at the new place....

our previous providers cannot give us the service coz of the distance from the Central Office and SBC the phone company that owns all the lines, will not lease them a Remote terminal so we had to ditch them and go with SBC...

so for their "special" price of $44.95 per month we get 2.0mb downstream and 400k upstream ( before we got 1.5down/768 up) so i lose a little on the uploads but at least the down loads are better....

one day we will all have extrememly cheap/free broadband via our wireless networks into our watches and wearable computers where the information will be available on the go..

and still we will have to use a spell check!

the only thing i am not a fan of is the 2.4 ghz wireless network, seeing that our cordless phones are all 2.4 ghz and the microwave too works at 2.4ghz luckily the FCC steps in there, but i can imagine as it gets older there maybe some problems with interference!

well we lost sync tonight i am thinking it is a telco problem as it is intermittant and i was using it all day today doing some heavy web work.... sometimes i guess we can squeeze every last bit out of that phone line! :lol

i guess you get a crappy deal coz of your location and all....

tho i cannot see much better in the mainland UK to be honest...

200k a sec downloads are great tho! :lol
