It was a lovely day in Belfast, yesterday and today.
The city's magnolias, soulangiana and stellata, are out in force and are a wonderful sight in the suburban avenues. They "do" very well here.
This piccie was not taken in my garden.

This was taken in my garden. I planted up these violas, to put the pots outside my front door, but now I am too mean to put them out there, preferring to see them from my kitchen.http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-7/33361/VVOSC-aviolapatch.JPG

You can see that I haven't quite got the hang of how to get the exposure right for the bright yella ones, beside the lovely deep red violas.

Very beautiful :) A friend's farmyard garden is in full bloom, it's a beautiful sight while eating dinner :)

I love colorful flowers, myself, and am more a fan of the "unkempt" English-style garden, with plants doing their thing, than the more formal French variation, where the plants are supposed to do YOUR thing.

Great pictures, Roseval. Thanks for sharing them. Nice back yard also.

Here's some of my front railings, covered in species clematis. The one in bloom is C.macropetala, from China, an alpine species.
I love the exotic oriental blue of the petals,
similar to the Meconopsis, blue Himalayan, poppy.

There is also a common-or-garden Yurpeon C. montana, just coming into bloom.[http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-7/33361/LIFQW-100_0201.JPG

Thanks, SN.
I love the species (un-bred) plants, so small and they need to flower en masse to create an impact, which is what they do in the wild.

I have a lovely photo of an abandoned Donegal meadow, full of wild primrose, which I'll put up later.
