In the next few days time permitting, Sir Digalot will be adding a new feature to the board. This will show the 5 most active threads and the 5 most recent threads. It is not anticipated any downtime to the board will occur and full relevant backups will be taken beforehand. This new feature will also be tested on a test board before being implemented to ensure the board is not brought down - as I managed to do a few weeks ago. :eyes

You may however notice a few weird things going on whilst Sir D implements the above, but this should not last more than a couple of minutes.

Can we also have the "View next/previous thread" feature at the bottom of the thread?

Daaaaav, did you ever think about amalgamating all those chat bits I love so much?
Oh, please.

Chat bits? Confused, I'm probably being stupid but could you elaborate :)

The non political forums, I mean.
Sometimes I think that Anything Goes and General-Chat are the same thing. I have a rather dis-organised mind, you see..

Not trying to run yr board or anything, just a thought.

Ah yes. Will probably do it. Very easy to do as well. Just a case of moving the threads out of one of the forums into the other, which is a doddle.

Which forum should we keep?

FWIW I kind of prefer the two.

Maybe make it clearer that the General Chat is for semi serious stuff and the Anything goes is for Non-serious stuff. Along with the X files we've got all the bases covered.

Well personally I don't mind either way. They are both light in the terms of posts, but I feel they do complement the rest of the board.

I could run a poll and see what everyone thinks.

I'll get stuffed in free poll.
How do I rig the vote?

I only have one other personality on this board.

Val thanks for that. For making me laugh you should get a head start of 5 votes.

Go easy on the old emoticons there,
or I may have to reply with a heavy dose of cut'n'pastie,
or even excessive quoting.

Digga has just done this and in addition has added a modification which shows the registered members that the board has had in the last 24 hour period. If your status is anonymous as per the who is online your name will not appear in the list neither will guest visitors.

:cheers Digga.

This will show the 5 most active threads and the 5 most recent threads

So what are the other 5 threads?

It seems that the criteria for 'most active' is the amount of views (what do those numbers represent anyways, and why do only 10 of the 15 have them), maybe change that to amount of posts? Might give a truer sampling of the 'most active', then again, it might not change anything...

They are from left to right:

Most Recent Activity
Threads with most Posts
Most Viewed Threads.

Titles will be appearing on each column to make this clearer :)

Digga has now implemented this World Events.
