It was a nice service. Quite short, but good all the same and I don't consider myself religious.
My nan was going to be 95 in May, so it was expected but unexpected if you can understand what I mean. She led a long good life, but the last few years she had been virtually bed ridden. For the last 25 years she had lived with my uncle and aunt in Bristol. At least she died at home amongst her family. She feared the idea of dying in a hospice. It was just her time and If live within 20 years of her age I'll be pleased.
My aunt and uncle can now start to adapt to their retirement without having to look after her. They have been an inspiration, I don't know many people that would dedicate such a large part of their lives looking after a parent. I really look up to them.
I am really lucky to be part of a large but yet close family. You tend to appreciate that more as you get older.
