Now I just have to remember how to do it.
Take "print screen" of the desk top,
put it in "my docs", if happy with size,
otherwise, manipulate in photoshop to about 450 pixels across?
No Village Hosting needed.

Was going to put mine on, but couldn't decide which one. Later.
Daav, see the way your piccie is more than 1000px across, does that show on yr screen or do you have to scroll across to see it all?
I have a small screen on this PC.

Thanks,
actually real reason is that I can't remember, quickly, how to get from the 500px Adobe/My Docs piccie to the post, without Village Photos.
Look at FAQ later., so I will.

Try this, hot day in August. small town or village, really.
Typical west of Ireland streetscape
The flags are the County flags, to encourage the local gaelic team.
This photo was taken the day the local team won thru' to a semi-final in, I think, Mayo somewhere.
The chip shop, centre of piccie, is our fave chippie. We were coming back from a swim at the caves of Maghera, the pools underneath are brill.

Helper?
Well I take it yr sorry for the "do you ever read a book" remark?
Ok, thank you.
Topline of keyboard, there's a button third from right,
says
Prt Sc.
Tidy up desk top,
press button, it copies the screentosome kind of clipboard.
Then I paste that into a blank page on Photo-shop.
to trim it down to 500 pixels.
Then upload it somewhere.

Yes, Roseval, I'm sorry for the insult. (I've been doing better, really!)
(Now, I finally understand what you meant about 'you were nice to me!' over on Lifeboat. For the life of me, I couldn't remember ever NOT being nice to you ... but as soon as I read that 'do you ever read books?' remark ... I KNEW that was me, to my shame! I'm really sorry.
So, thank you for your help above ... but, I have SUSE-LINUX the Euro version ... and it doesn't behave the same as microsoft (I got tired of supporting billionaires!).
So ... linux is new to me ... and I can't remember MS anymore at all ... so, I guess I'll just have to hang my head in shame and ignore this thread. :dunno

Some posters may have seen this piccie on Lifeboat,
but it's so good I am using it on my desktop, at a much higher resolution, where it has the effect of an insect jungle.
Actually, it reminds me of the hill attack scenes in Thin Red Line, the waving grass.
I took it on our veg allotment, where there is a large area of un-glyphosated nettles, a necessary larval food plant for a lot of N European butterflies.
New digital camera , Kodak, 10x optical zoom.
I stalked this pair and got stung round the ankles by the nettles.

Yeah, there is a fakey quality to parts of it. But it is a screencap so the original image (http://www.visualparadox.com/wallpapers/mountainrange800.htm) is a bit better than that.
And even if that's not your fancy, there's many (http://www.visualparadox.com/wallpapers/craterlake800.htm) others (http://www.visualparadox.com/wallpapers/southpassage800.htm) to choose (http://www.visualparadox.com/wallpapers/nightbridge800.htm) from (http://www.visualparadox.com/wallpapers/zen800.htm).
