Not bad for our first proper day here.

It might be interesting, if this is possible (don't understand computers that well) to separate the post count of what might be termed new posters from those of regular posters and see if the percentages are changing. In other words, is the new board attracting more new hits, and new blood, than the old. I don't know if the data can be separated to discern these numbers, but it might be a sort of thumbnail method to see if the board is actually doing better after leaving EZ, than it did under their umbrella. It would take a watch over time, to avoid unseen or unaccountable temporary influences, but it might prove an interesting exercize.

Just a thought.

So far 99% of the hits being generated are due to the links on the old board to here and the mailshots I have sent out to the registered members on the old board.

It is early days, but it is my intention to reduce this percentage quite considerably by publicising the web site and board through sites other than the old P & CA board.

We are already registered with the main search engines, but it will take a while before we start to noticably creep up their lists.

It is also possible from the statistics provided by the webserver to find out where and how new visitors have found us - meaning which site referred us and how.

We will probably see a reduction in new posters for the short term however, as I have requested EZBoard to remove us from their spotlight due to the move and the reluctance of new blood joining a board outside of EZBoard world after finding the old board through the EZ search facility.

So far since we moved here permanently on the 11th March, the website and or the board has been viewed by just under 800 individuals and has taken thousands of hits. So we aren't doing too bad, in fact we are doing much better than I anticipated at this stage :D.

It is quite heartening to know that many of the original members have followed us over here and that alone puts us in a very good stead to be able to start getting noticed outside of the EZ umbrella.

Keep checking the announcements forum for updates. Also I will be continually updating http://www.politicsandcurrentaffairs.com/The%20Beginning.htm to show the number of countries the board is being viewed in. These figures are only from the 3rd March when the site was first registered.

Sounds like a lot of hard work, just to keep us assorted odd bods amused. Thanks, Daavros.

Actually it is a hobby Val :D . Digga and I wouldn't bother otherwise. Besides we both work with computers day in day out. As for me - it is a good way to learn another skill set :D

Yeah, well I've learned lots of things from EZboard, especially all the photo manipulation, which I use in my work.
So, could we play Post the Desktop without going thru' Village Photos? Seems like it.
