Disapointing episode tonite. Only one guy gets whacked, and it's some no-name waiter who was pissed about his tip. Where was Buscemi?

roseval

Is this a new series?

I know we are hopelessly behind here on the edge of Europe, but I thought it was over, full stop.

CheezieDanish

Buscemi is going to start next week. I'm so looking forward to seeing him on the show too. I was also a little disappointed in the "premier" of the season. WTF was with the bear? :?

roseval - Fifth season. May be the last. Who knows?

WTF was with the bear? :? --CheezieDanish

Probably some sort of symbolism as were the ducks at the beginning. And the bear was attracted by the duck food. Foreshadowing?

I've got access to Irish TV here in London ;) Last year Ireland's Network 2 was about five days behind HBO in the States with the Sopranos - the fastest in Europe.

Hopefully N2 will come up with the goods as quick...

...but If you U.S. folks are going to use this thread to discuss stories and give away spoilers I had better duck out!!

lily
03-13-2004, 02:30 AM
I too am looking forward to Buscemi. I also agree that it was a slow start, but there was a long gap inbetween this episode and the last. Had a lot of "catching up" to do. Anyway that was my opinion. Next week it should be better.

***SPOILER*** ;)

I think Adrianna is going to die this season and Christopher is the one who will have to kill her off.

roseval
03-15-2004, 08:32 AM
So, Quiggers, do you get RTE down the cable or satellite? We get it thru' NTL cable. I honestly thought Sops. had ended.

Yeah, they are giving away all the plots.

***SPOILER*** ;)

I think Adrianna is going to die this season and Christopher is the one who will have to kill her off.

I misssed last night's episode.........VCR didn't go off, so I'll have to catch it tonight. This "spoiler" surprises me. What makes you think so?

CheezieDanish
03-16-2004, 12:33 AM
:lol Okay... okay...It's not a "Spoiler" but My PREDICTION. Someone's going to die this season, right? My prediction is that it is going to be Adrianna because she's in tight with the FBI.

lily

Someone's going to die this season? Just one? ;) Granted Adrianna isn't one of the "main characters", but I think she's going to make it to the end. I have visions of a big Italian wedding.........the Godfather comes to mind :cheers . But on the other hand, if Christopher ever did find out about her and the FBI, he would be the one to off her.

I have to admit, when this show first started I didn't like it, then over the summer I rented every episode and had a marathon. Now I'm hooked.

Sorry if the quote thing didn't work..........I'm still practicing.

Not sure if this is true or not, but if so looks like they picked the right actress to be a cast member or should I say "dis-member"?

BIZARRE NEWS
It is not unusual for people to collect things, such
as coins or stamps. However, it is a little odd to
have a collection of body parts. For actress Drea de
Matteo, who plays Adriana La Cerva on the television
series The Sopranos, sentimentality leads to her
desire to collect bits and pieces of those who mean
the most to her. She has just added to her bizarre
collection by becoming the proud owner of her
brother's teeth. "He sent me all his teeth in the
mail. He had one side of his mouth replaced. I like to
keep things. I'm sentimental." However, De Matteo's
strangest keepsakes rest in a jar on her bedside table
- the testicles from her Great Dane. She remarked,
"He's still alive. I show them to him every time he
misbehaves. I think he knows they're his."

Finaly got to watch SUnday's episode. Thanks for not telling me why you thought Christopher would be the one to kill Adreanna. Got to disagree with you..........cuz someone has to.........I think she's either going to self destruct or kill herself. The blantent reference to Judas.

I'm telling you it was well worth the wait to see Buscemi. Miami Vice clothes, living in his mother's basement, complaing about living in his mothers basement..........PRICELESS!

CheezieDanish
03-17-2004, 07:40 PM
Indeed. I like Buscemi's character. It r0x0r5!

I also agree with you regarding Adriana. She could off herself... but it would be much better if Christopher does it... don't you think? I like how she....

*SPOILER*

Ratted on her "friend" because she was jealous. heh

lily
03-18-2004, 03:06 AM
Her ratting on her bridesmaid was icing on the cake!

Ok, now I have a picture in my mind of Christopher and Paulie in the woods ala the Russian, instead this time it's Adreanna......I loved that episode!

Something else interesting. Take a look at season 5's poster.

http://ww2.imagewiz.net/images/debomorris/42191_sopranosseason5poster.jpg

Doesn't the body under the boat between Janice and A.J. look like Adrianna? The woman standing with Chrissy looks older.

HHhmmmm... very interesting!! They've introduced an "older" woman boss lady...

Gyhldy
03-19-2004, 09:41 PM
Also, look for a war (another upcomming whack) between Carmine Jr. and Johnny Sack. Now that the boss is dead these two will rival for the position. Anyone notice how pissed Carmine Jr. was about the Opus Dei medal that was in Carmine's hand? He was accusing Johnny of placing it there.

Great episode. I'm glad they didn't kill off Robert Logia, but I have a feeling that it just might come back and bite Tony in the ass.

Think you're right about Christopher killing Adreannia.......but the way that story line is draggin out and taking up time, I'm tempted to kill her myself. She's got harly any scenes, unless it's with the agent.

How sad was that when Carmella came hoe to an empty house?

It's interesting to see what the "Yanquis" posters picked up on and thought was important or relevant.

They just can't let Tony be total tough guy though. In an epi where it appeared Tony was getting some balls back, they still have to have him cry at the end of the episode. What mobster would cry about a woman who was working with the FBI to bring him down? Oh well. It's about time he told Johnny Sac where to stick it. Johnny Sac has been my favorite character this season. He's the only guy who has displayed any confidence, capability, and guts, all at the same time. And his lines have been classic. But it's about time Tony stopped placating him all the time. Looks like we're in for a bloody NJ/NY war. :yay

So, one man dead, families put up in Hilton, two bombs last night,

it's the peace dividend.

The paramilitaries have taken up drugs and counterfeit goods trading.

"A feud between rival loyalist paramilitaries in Northern Ireland has the potential to get worse, the chief constable has said.

Hugh Orde was referring to the escalating violence involving the Loyalist Volunteer Force and the rival Ulster Volunteer Force, which has already left one man dead.

The chief constable held talks with the Security Minister, Ian Pearson, and the Northern Ireland Secretary, Paul Murphy, on Tuesday to discuss the violence.

Their meeting followed bomb attacks in east Belfast and County Down on Tuesday, which have been linked to the feud.

Scores of police and soldiers have been drafted in to deal with the trouble"

Only one episode left.
I think they are going to kill old Tony off completely... right after Carmella finds out she's pregnant.

Not necessarily disappointed. It was a good episode. Perhaps I expected something more. However, with the Sopranos, I think it's good to think of the last two episodes combined as the de facto season finale. With that in mind, I think I like the way this season ended.

lily
06-09-2004, 02:29 AM
I seem to be in the minority. I thought the finale sucked. As a matter of fact, most of this season was not up to par, the dream episode had to be the absolute worst thing I have ever seen!

Ok, maybe I'm disappointed because I wanted something to happen with the bear! What the hell was THAT all about? To give Carmella a chance to show she's ready for an affair? We already knew that with Furrio. Don't give me that the bear has to do with the ducks in the first episode crap!

I WAS a Six Feet Under fan.... :D Season 2 or 3 seemed to suck so bad for me... I stopped watching it... right before or after "what's his face's wife" left him with the baby. :/ :lol

Now I'm a Deadwood fan, instead. Yippee Ki Ay Aye motherfucker. :lol

For some reason Deadwood didn't grab me. Now I've heard nothing but good stuff about it. Guess I have to wait for the DVD.

It's like, Shakesperian Old West. It took me a couple of espisodes to really get into it. If you do happen to catch it on DVD, make sure there are no small ears around ;)

I don't think you're in the minority Lily. From what I've been reading, I think most people are disappointed with this season. The bear was a metaphor for Tony, as you know; Tony is the bear. They made that painfully obvious with that last scene of Tony coming through the brush. Ok, so Tony's a bear? So what? We already knew that? Tony, like the bear, will never stop being Tony. We knew that too. And what becomes of Johnny Sac? I thought we were going to be left with an impending New York vs. New Jersey war hanging for next season. I figured they (the writers) would somehow, very unrealistically, find a way to let New Jersey win the war, and maybe Carmella wacks Tony in the last Sopranos epi ever, followed by AJ wacking Christopher and Silvio, making him the Don of the Aprille Family at the age of 20 :lol . That would have been great (though not realistic). We might still get some of that, but we obviously aren't going to get a gang war between New York and Jersey now.

Maybe the last season will focus on the immediate Soprano family - AJ gets into the family business, Meadow gets married, Carmella get her $600,000 mansion and Tony gets whacked... yeah - making AJ the head of the family now. :lol

The bear being the metaphor for Tony was brought to my attention on another forum I post on. After re-watching the episode, I caught it. Some times it takes me a while :cheers

Odd too that on the other forum the idea of one of Tony's children getting killed next season was brought up to.......I guess people are the same every where.

The most discussed was Meadow getting killed in a hail fo gun fire, taking you to the scen in The Godfather. I had to disagree. Although I do see someone in Tony's family being killed. I see it as AJ. Only makes sense. He would be the end of the line for the Soprano name.

Any thoughts?

OOooh... I never thought of AJ getting whacked to end the bloodline there. Good one. And in this last episode it looked as if he was enjoying the bloodhsed, as well. :yay

What I want to know is what's up with Meadow's wimp-assed boyfriend? The espisode he was in was funny as hell - they should show more of him next season.

Uncle Pat's farm good one. But tell me.........what did you think of the episode with Tony and Adreanna? That one was really good.

Gave me food for thought,
about how Adrianna being in Tony's car was only supposed to mean one thing, adultery.
Other images from last night, the Tony/ Buscemi/ Christopher scene,
teasing in the pub was well observed.

I would nominate that as best episode, so far.

Don't vote so fast...........you've got some damned good ones coming up!

I think my all time favorite episode though has to be the one with Christopher and Paulie in the woods trying to kill the Russian :rollin

I rem when Christopher went to Holywood.

He mentioned it again, the other night.
Didn't he get off with Cybil Shepherd's onscreen daughter?

God, hope I'm right, haven't checked,
but I think I mean Alicia Witt, she was in a few episodes when Chris went to H/wood.

Unless I'm thinking of something else entirely

You're probably right. Damn memory. I can't even recall the episode where Chris went to Hollywood. One god thing about a bad memory though..........you can watch a good movie over and over and not be bored ;)
