Blasting Democrats:
You can wait until judgement day and it's not going to change the fact that the Democratic party is just as much to blame for our current sad state of affairs as is the Republican party. This isn't a last desperate defense of a conservative either, it's the beginning of a an offense by a moderate. Regarding your better economic results, big fucking deal. Whoopee for Bill Clinton. He laid off half the damn military because the cold war conveniently ended during the preceding administration and he could get away with it; thereby, saving billions and creating a budget surplus. If the cold war hadn't ended, he would have been running up the deficts just like every other Republican and every other Democrat before him. Are you going to claim that Carter's economy was something to brag about? I rememeber a hell of a lot of poverty back then and that poverty is what cost him the reelection bid. Johnson? Please, he started the Vietnam war and forced us to waste billions of dollars at the expense of his much touted "Great Society." Kennedy? I have nothing bad to say about that man nor will I ever. That brings us to Ike. He was a Republican ya know? Have you seen the debt/defict under his administration? Woud you like to compare it to any Democrats? Ike pretty much lays your whole argument to rest. What about Truman? He wasn't around long enough to do any real damage. Roosevelt? Do you really think the debt decreased during his administration. He declared the U.S. bankrupt and then went on to borrow more than any other President up to that point. I think your whole argument is a fabrication. It's the last desperate defense of a liberal who says "Look at the Clinton economy and be assured that we can downsize that military again." Well guess what? Kerry proposed enlarging the military during his campaign. He was planning to do the same things that Bush is doing only "he was going to them better." Yeah fucking right he was. You're proposing a change in party but you're not proposing any real change.
Frankly, I would blast Clinton for not going after Osama by invading Afghanistan -- instead of attempting to use Cruise Missiles to nail his hide. That was never likely to work because we had to get permission to fire before we could let it rip. By then Osama could be gone.
